If you regularly use blogs you can skip this page…  Although most people have heard of blogging only about 1 in 5 online users use blogs.

This Q&A page is aimed at enabling you to enjoy using this blog – and perhaps exploring some of the 10′s of thousands of other blogs out there in the ‘blogosphere’.

How is a Blog different from a website?

It is a website – just a very simple form of website – but one that can be quickly and simply updated. And, importantly, a website that is interactive!  So you can add your thoughts, views, opinions, or questions.

How do I get news of updates to this Blog?

Two ways.

(1) Sign up for automatic email alerts using the little box in the right hand margin.

(2) If you have an RSS reader use the orange RSS button.

You do not need to register for the Blog.

Blogging ‘language’

Blog: a weblog – a sort of ongoign and frequently updated series of articles

Posts: for some reason or other blog articles are called ‘posts’. And the newest one is always at the top of the page.

Comments: Anything you want to say regarding an article (questions, views, arguments, etc.) is called a ‘comment’.

Registering for a blog: some blogs require you to ‘register’ before you can make a comment – and in order to receive updates when new articles are published. (You can ignore this as the Pegasus NLP Blog does not require registering.  And you can receive updates simply by subscribing using the top box on the right hand column (see below).

How do I add a ‘comment’

Simply type your questions or comments in the box at the end of the article.

You will need to do the reCapthcha thing before you can submit your comment – this is to prevent computer generated spam advertising all sorts of exotic products from being posted.

When commenting you will be asked to fill in your name and email address (the name shows on the blog along with your comment. But your email address is kept private and is not published on the blog). Then you simply add your comment.

Please keep your comments to around 200 words – comments are intended to stimulate discussion or obtain information or clarification, rather than become articles in themselves.

Receive notification of new articles

As mentioned above you can receive immediate notification whenever a new article (or ‘post’) is published by subscribing to this blog. You’ll notice a box entitled “automatically get email alerts whenever this Blog is updated”. Simply enter your email address in the blog and click the blue ‘submit’  button.
